Your hostess at The Boxley is a committed tea and tisane drinker. Each room has its own teapot and selection of teas and tisanes. In this case it seems that most nutritionists and doctors do agree the antioxidants in tea deserve a place in our daily lives. You will find nocturnal teas and tisanes as well.
With enthusiasm, The Boxley will also join North Carolina's wine growing community when a small vineyard will be planted this spring at the rear of The Boxley. For the moment, the goal is to coax the best possible Carmenère from the Virginia and North Carolina terroir (see the story about the history of the Camenère grape on the tour page). Step two will entail the attempt to make a new wine from the Camenère grape by marrying it to the indigenous grapes of both Virginia and North Carolina. But, do not despair there will also be a fine cabernet as they are currently under cultivation in the Virginia vineyard.

At The Boxley your hostess encourages slumbering. And to that end she has created a smoothing environment for the discerning traveler. Each room has 1000 thread count linens and down pillows* that help to insure a sound night's sleep. Fresh fruit, chocolate truffles and fresh baked goods await your arrival in your room. Remember, whether you call the act sleeping or slumbering, some say that "carbos" just before bedtime help to assure a sound sleep but it's not for sure. However, you can make that choice and enjoy indulging to the extent you desire.
*Other pillows are available for the down averse.

A gourmet breakfast awaits you in the dining room or you may – for a charge of $10.00 per person – take your breakfast in-room. A complimentary Mimosa accompanies your breakfast tray. The silver-domed breakfast tray includes Boxley Cakes and Pure Maple Syrup; alongside your pancakes are Eggs a la Surprise. Fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh brewed coffee or Cappuccino set the tone for a relaxing day.
